How did you first hear about Humanity and Hope?
I first heard about Humanity and Hope from Ben Higgins on Instagram. I followed Ben and H&H on social media for over a year before I decided to join my first trip.
What was your favorite part of going to Honduras?
My favorite part of going to Honduras is building relationships and getting to spread love to the people in each community.
How has being a part of H&H changed your daily life?
Honduras has impacted my daily life by changing my perception of a “blessed life”. The people I met in Honduras give all the glory to God and their faith inspires me. I have learned to be more present, to be kinder, and to appreciate all seasons of life.
Advice to someone thinking of going on a trip?
My advice to someone who is thinking about going on a trip with H&H would be that the only expectation to have is that your life will never be the same after experiencing a trip with H&H. I suggest going in open-minded and embracing the culture, diversity, and the beautiful people in Honduras.
What do you do outside of volunteering with H&H?
I work for a Pharmaceutical company as a Field Reimbursement Manager where I provide cost support and affordability to patients for high cost medications. I serve on the Prison Ministry team at my church and I was a court appointed special advocate for children in foster care for five years.
How are you continuing to stay plugged into the H&H community?
I am continuing to stay plugged into the H&H community by investing my time into the Experience team, Communications team, sponsoring a child’s education and continuing to take trips to Honduras yearly.
