Meet Our New Director of Engagement!

Earlier this week, Humanity and Hope officially welcomed a new member to our team. Caleb Mejia joined us as our new director of engagement! We are so excited to have him on the team. Caleb’s kindness, enthusiasm, and dedication make him the perfect person for the job. Welcome, Caleb! We are so lucky to have you!

What were you doing before you joined H&H?

Before joining H&H, I was working in a different company doing some logistics. It was such a hard environment to work, so I decided to step away. I was so passionate about H&H and its mission trips, I decided to volunteer as a translator on every trip I could or really help with anything involving H&H.

Why did you decide to get involved?

Two years ago, my brother Daniel invited me to go in one of the trips to translate. I remember visiting La Coroza first, and it was such a humbling experience getting to know these people full of passion and dreams that I decided to always be involved in a way or another with them.

What are you most excited about doing in your new role?

I am most excited about doing my best to help the people in the communities. I always dreamed about helping people in some way, and putting my skills to practice for these people feels like a dream come true.

What’s one thing people would be surprised to learn about you?

I think people would be surprised to know that I am colorblind! I own a lot of black clothes because it is the easiest to match!
