My H&H Story: Wendy & Miguel Buezo
AN ANSWER TO SEVEN YEARS OF PRAYER
As a result of relentless prayer and God’s provision through H&H, Wendy and Miguel Buezo of Remolino have experienced a drastic life change.
Wendy told us that before H&H began partnering with Remolino, there was a very different environment in the community. The opportunity to make money was inconsistent and the hope for the future was low.
The couple also told us that years ago they were connected to vices that prohibited their growth in Christ.
But one day, the story changed for Wendy and Miguel.
Darwin Suazo, our Project & Sales Manager, witnessed this change in Wendy and Miguel.
“One day God did something special in Wendy. And not just Wendy, but in her husband, Miguel, too,” Darwin said.
For seven years, Wendy and Miguel have been praying for a new home. In 2020, the hurricanes damaged their house and completely took off their roof, so H&H stepped in to help.
Just last week, their prayer was answered.
H&H completed the rebuilding of their new home! Together, with the community of Remolino and the staff at H&H, we held an inauguration and time of prayer as they moved into their new home.
“Today, they both serve God. And last week, they inaugurated the house that H&H built for them. I think that there are just blessings after blessings coming their way because they decided to believe in God and choose the right path.
To me that’s a huge beautiful story,” Darwin told us.
H&H has grown so important to their family as a spiritual hope and transformation. The Buezo family even has a regularly weekly bible study outside of their home with our Spiritual Area Director, Pastor Roger Reyes, where the group grows together in their faith.
Miguel told us that there are still many people in the community that are enslaved to vices with low job opportunities. But he hopes and prays that this will change, like it did for his family.
“That is my hope, that one day, those who may be in vices surrender to God like us at one time and God raised us from there,” Miguel said.
Miguel continued to share with us a little bit about the hopes he has for his family.
“I have a dream that my children become professionals. It was difficult for us to study and that is what we yearn for our children to live differently.”
When thinking of their children’s future, Wendy mentioned that at one time she did not know how she would send them to school in good faith, since the community did not support them in their studies.
Today, she looks at her children going to school and sees it as a huge blessing.
It is obvious to us that, just like Darwin said, God is blessing Wendy and Miguel’s family through their faithfulness and prayerfulness. We are so proud to play a small part in providing them and their community with the resources they need to thrive in their community.
Wendy and Miguel, thank you for entrusting us with your hopes and dreams as we partner together to make them possible. You are an example for others and we will continue to pray and support you!
